How it works
It strips /* ... */ comments with a pattern match, then collapses whitespace around { } : ; ,, removes a trailing semicolon right before a closing brace, and squashes any remaining runs of whitespace to a single space — no property renaming or other risky rewriting.
FAQ
Will this break my CSS by renaming colors or shortening properties?
No — it only strips comments and collapses whitespace and unneeded trailing semicolons; it doesn't rename colors, merge selectors, or shorten values the way an aggressive build-tool minifier would, so the output stays predictable.
Does it minify inside comments or quoted strings?
Comments are removed by matching /* ... */ patterns anywhere in the text, without checking whether that text is inside a quoted string value — a rare edge case, but a value like content: "/* not a comment */" could theoretically get stripped.
