How it works
Your uploaded image is drawn onto six separate canvases, one per required size (16×16 up to 512×512, plus the 180×180 apple-touch-icon), and each canvas is exported as its own downloadable PNG via canvas.toDataURL() — no cropping or resampling correction is applied, so the source image is simply scaled to fit each square.
FAQ
Why does the tool generate six specific sizes instead of just one?
Different browsers, phone home screens, and Android launchers each look for a specific pixel size — 16×16 and 32×32 for browser tabs, 180×180 for Apple's apple-touch-icon, and 192×192/512×512 for Android's Chrome manifest icons — so one generic-size image won't cover every place a favicon actually gets displayed.
Does uploading a non-square image cause distortion?
Yes — each size is produced by drawing your source image directly onto a square canvas at that size, with no cropping or aspect-ratio correction, so a non-square source image will appear stretched in every generated icon.
