Markdown previewer

Write Markdown on the left, see the rendered result on the right. Nothing is sent to a server.

How it works

Every keystroke re-runs the entire textarea's content through marked, an open-source Markdown-to-HTML parser (loaded from a CDN), and drops the result straight into the preview pane's innerHTML — there's no debounce or diffing, so the full document is re-parsed and re-rendered on every single character typed.

FAQ

Is it safe to paste Markdown containing raw HTML?
marked passes raw HTML through into the rendered output by default, and this page renders that output directly with innerHTML, so pasted untrusted HTML — including a script tag — could execute in your own browser tab; fine for your own notes, but don't paste Markdown from a source you don't trust.
Why does the preview always look the same regardless of the page's dark/light theme?
The preview pane is styled with a fixed white background and dark text, independent of the site's own theme toggle, since it's meant to mimic how the rendered Markdown will typically look wherever it's actually published (e.g. GitHub, a blog).
