Pomodoro timer

● runs entirely in your browser
25 minutes of focus, then a break.

Focus
25:00

How it works

The timer counts down in your browser using a one-second setInterval loop; switching between Focus (25m), Short break (5m), and Long break (15m) just resets the counter to that mode's duration. When a session hits zero, a brief 880Hz tone plays via the Web Audio API to let you know, even if you've looked away from the tab.

FAQ

Does the countdown stay accurate if I switch to another browser tab?
Not perfectly — browsers throttle JavaScript timers in background tabs to save power, so a session left running unfocused can drift by a few seconds. It's fine for a 25-minute focus block, but worth keeping the tab open if precision matters.
Will my session survive a page refresh?
No — the remaining time only lives in the page's memory, so reloading or closing the tab resets the countdown back to the full duration of whichever mode is selected.
