Screen Recorder

Record your screen, a window, or a browser tab — with your microphone mixed in if you want narration. No 5-minute cap, no upload, no account. The recording never leaves your computer until you choose to download it.

How it works

Recording is built entirely on browser APIs: getDisplayMedia() captures the screen, window, or tab you pick from the OS's native share dialog, and getUserMedia() grabs your microphone if you leave that box checked. When both are present, an AudioContext mixes the screen's own audio and your mic into a single track via createMediaStreamDestination, and MediaRecorder encodes the combined stream to WebM, picking the best codec your browser supports (VP9+Opus, then VP8+Opus, then a plain fallback). Nothing is uploaded — the recorded blob lives only in your browser's memory until you click download.

FAQ

Why does the recording stop if I click 'Stop sharing' in the browser's own screen-share bar?
The recorder listens for the screen video track's 'ended' event, which fires automatically when you stop sharing through the browser's native UI, so it finalizes the recording instead of leaving it hanging.
What format does the download come in, and can I get MP4?
It downloads as a .webm file using VP9 or VP8 video with Opus audio, whichever codec the browser's MediaRecorder API supports — not MP4, since that requires a licensed encoder browsers don't expose for MediaRecorder output.
