Everything runs as regular-expression matching in your browser — nothing you paste is ever sent anywhere, which matters here more than on most tools since the whole point is handling sensitive text. Emails, SSNs, phone numbers, and IP addresses (with octets checked to be valid 0-255) are matched directly; digit runs that look like credit card numbers are only redacted if they actually pass the Luhn checksum real card issuers use, which is what keeps an ordinary long number from being flagged as a card.
