Paste an Amazon Resource Name to break it into partition, service, region, account ID, and resource β with a plain-English note on the service. Nothing is ever uploaded.
Breakdown
How it works
The input is split on colons into arn:partition:service:region:account-id:resource β since the resource segment can itself contain colons, everything after the fifth colon is rejoined back together rather than split further. The partition and service segments are then looked up in a small built-in glossary to add a plain-English note.
FAQ
Why does it say a service isn't in the glossary yet?
The plain-English descriptions only cover a couple dozen of AWS's 200+ services; the ARN itself still parses correctly, you just won't get a description for a service that isn't in the built-in list.
Why does an ARN show no region or account ID?
Some resource types are global (like an S3 bucket or an IAM role) and legitimately omit the region field, and a handful of resource types omit the account ID too β the parser reflects the ARN exactly as given rather than guessing at missing values.
