How it works
Images → PDF uses the pdf-lib library to embed each PNG or JPG directly and create a page sized to that image's own pixel width and height, so nothing gets cropped or rescaled to a standard page size. PDF → Images works the opposite direction and needs a different tool for it: pdf-lib can't rasterize existing PDF content, so the converter loads pdf.js on demand, renders each page onto a canvas at double scale, and exports that canvas as a PNG.
FAQ
Why does each PDF page come out the exact same shape as the source image?
The tool creates each PDF page sized to the image's own pixel width and height and draws it at full scale, rather than fitting it onto a Letter or A4 page — so your image's aspect ratio is preserved exactly, just with pixel dimensions read as PDF points.
Why does converting a PDF to images take an extra loading step the first time?
Building a PDF and rasterizing one need different libraries — pdf-lib can create and embed pages but can't render existing PDF content to a canvas, so the tool fetches pdf.js, Mozilla's PDF renderer, only when you actually click "Convert pages to PNG."
