Resize and crop photos to Instagram's exact dimensions, preview how they'll sit on your grid, and check a caption against the hashtag and character limits before you post. No signup required. No tracking, no ad-tech scripts, nothing you type or upload ever leaves your browser.
A 3-column mockup of how your processed images will sit on your profile grid. Drag a tile to reorder. Instagram's grid crops each post to 3:4 for the thumbnail (a 2026 change from the old square crop) — this preview reflects that, even if you exported a different ratio above.
| Format | Dimensions | Aspect ratio | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square post | 1080 × 1080 px | 1:1 | Safe minimum width 320px, but 1080px is the working standard |
| Portrait post | 1080 × 1350 px | 4:5 | Instagram's recommended default for feed posts — the tallest ratio before it gets cropped |
| Landscape post | 1080 × 566 px | 1.91:1 | Widest feed ratio; gets more visually cropped in-grid than 1:1 or 4:5 |
| Carousel (multi-image) | 1080 × 1350 px | 4:5 | All slides should share one ratio — mixed ratios get cropped to match the first slide |
| Story | 1080 × 1920 px | 9:16 | Keep key content out of the top/bottom ~250px (UI overlays) |
| Reel | 1080 × 1920 px | 9:16 | Same canvas as Stories; cover frame uses the same size |
| Profile picture | 320 × 320 px | 1:1 | Displayed as a circle — keep the subject centred |
| Profile grid thumbnail | 1080 × 1440 px equivalent | 3:4 | 2026 change: the grid now previews posts at 3:4, not the old square crop |
Video length limits vary by upload method and are rolled out gradually by Instagram: Stories are capped at 60 seconds per clip; Reels recorded in-app are commonly limited to 90 seconds–3 minutes, while Reels uploaded from your camera roll can run longer; feed video can run up to roughly an hour. Treat these as approximate — Instagram changes video limits more often than image dimensions.
Resize & Crop draws each photo onto an off-screen canvas sized to your chosen aspect ratio: "Crop to fit" scales the image up to cover the frame and lets you drag directly on the thumbnail to slide the visible crop window, while "Fit" scales it down to show the whole image and pads the remainder with a solid color, a blurred, oversized copy of the same photo (via a canvas blur() filter), or leaves it transparent as a PNG. The Grid Preview tab re-renders those same canvases and re-crops them to a 3:4 box around the center, and "Download all as ZIP" packs every processed image into one archive with JSZip, all without a file ever leaving your browser.
