Meeting cost calculator

See what a meeting actually costs in salary, and watch it tick up live while it runs.

—cost per minute
—planned meeting cost
—per year if weekly
$0.00
Running cost — start when the meeting starts

How it works

Cost is derived by converting the average annual salary into an hourly rate (divided by 52 weeks, then by a 40-hour week), multiplying by attendee count to get a cost-per-minute figure, and multiplying that by the planned length; the live counter uses the same per-minute rate but ticks up every 100 milliseconds based on real elapsed time since you pressed Start, so pausing and resuming preserves the accumulated cost rather than resetting it.

FAQ

Why does the hourly rate assume a 40-hour week?
It's a simplification — annual salary divided by 52 weeks and then by 40 hours gives a standard full-time hourly rate, but it ignores paid time off, benefits overhead, and part-time schedules, so treat the total as a rough baseline for the meeting's salary cost, not a fully-loaded cost figure.
Does pausing the live counter reset it to zero?
No — pausing stores the elapsed seconds so far in a separate variable, and resuming adds new elapsed time on top of it; only the Reset button actually zeroes the counter.
