๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ strips author, company, software, timestamps โ€” never leaves your browser

PDF Metadata Remover

PDFs quietly carry the author's real name, company, and the software that made them in hidden metadata. Strip it entirely in your browser - unlike most free online metadata removers, your file never gets uploaded to do it.

How it works

The PDF is parsed with pdf-lib in your browser, which reads six standard metadata fields (Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Producer, Creator) that often carry your real name or the software that made the file; clicking clean blanks all six and also pins the creation and modification timestamps to the Unix epoch (1970), since pdf-lib would otherwise stamp the file with the current real time on save.

FAQ

Does this remove metadata hidden in images or embedded fonts inside the PDF too?
No - it only clears the document-level metadata fields (Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Producer, Creator) and timestamps; it doesn't strip EXIF data from embedded images or any custom XMP metadata a PDF producer may have added.
How do I know the metadata was actually removed?
The tool reloads the cleaned file with pdf-lib immediately after saving and re-reads all six fields to confirm they're actually empty, rather than just trusting that the write succeeded.
