📄 PDF workbench — 100% in your browser

PdfCraft

A full PDF workbench — view, organize, combine, split, fill, sign and edit PDFs — compiled to WebAssembly from the open-source PdfCraft project. Everything runs on your device; nothing you open is ever uploaded.

Before you click Launch: this loads a ~39MB WebAssembly app (same engine as the native desktop build), so give it a moment on a slow connection. It's also alpha upstream's own words — everyday workflows (view, comment, fill, sign, organize) work well, but converting and sharing is weaker than Acrobat's. Works best in a browser with WebGPU or WebGL2.

How it works

PdfCraft's whole engine and UI compile to WebAssembly from the same Rust codebase as the native app, so it's loaded once (on Launch, not on page load) and then runs as a self-contained PDF workbench inside the frame above — opening, editing and saving a PDF never leaves your browser. The GPU path uses WebGPU where available and falls back to WebGL2 automatically.

FAQ

Does my PDF get uploaded anywhere?
No. PdfCraft runs entirely client-side via WebAssembly — viewing, editing and saving all happen on your device. There is no server-side document storage.
Why is the download so big?
It's a full PDF engine, not a small script — about 39MB of WebAssembly, the same engine that powers the native desktop app. It only loads once you click Launch, and your browser caches it after that.
Is this finished software?
No — PdfCraft is alpha, upstream's own honest words: every everyday workflow (viewing, commenting, filling and signing forms, organizing pages) can be completed, but converting and sharing is weaker than Acrobat's.
