Resume ATS Compatibility Checker

Paste your resume text and check it against common Applicant Tracking System (ATS) parsing pitfalls - missing contact info, non-standard section headers, unusual length. Signals, not a guarantee of passing any specific ATS. Entirely client-side.

How it works

The checker runs your resume text through six pattern-based rules: regexes for a valid-looking email and phone number, a search for the words "experience," "education," and "skills" as section headers, a word count in the 250-to-900 range, at least two bullet-point lines (dashes, asterisks, bullets, or numbered lists), and a check that uppercase letters make up less than 30% of all letters. All of it runs against the text right in your browser.

FAQ

Does passing every check guarantee my resume will get through a real ATS?
No — these are common ATS pitfalls, not a simulation of any specific vendor's parser, since real Applicant Tracking Systems vary widely by company and configuration; treat a passing score as reduced risk, not a guarantee.
Why did it flag missing section headers when I clearly have an "Experience" section?
The check looks for the literal words "experience," "education," and "skills" anywhere in the text — a resume using synonyms like "Employment History" or "Qualifications" instead of the standard headers will fail that check even though a human reader would understand it fine.
