Every subscription is converted to a monthly-equivalent cost before being totaled — yearly cost divided by 12, weekly cost multiplied by 52 and divided by 12 (using the exact 52 weeks in a year rather than the approximate '4.33 weeks per month' shortcut, which would compound rounding error across several subscriptions) — and the list itself is saved to your browser's localStorage so it's there next time you visit.

Why convert weekly costs using 52 weeks a year instead of just multiplying by 4.33?

Multiplying by the approximate 4.33-weeks-per-month shortcut compounds rounding error as more subscriptions are added; going through cost × 52 ÷ 12 keeps the yearly total exact.
