📰 Page layout & publishing — 100% in your browser

DesignCraft

A page layout and publishing tool — frames, type, master pages and print-ready documents — compiled to WebAssembly from the open-source DesignCraft project. Everything runs on your device; nothing you open is ever uploaded.

Before you click Launch: this loads a ~41MB WebAssembly app (same engine as the native desktop build), so give it a moment on a slow connection. It's also pre-alpha by upstream's own roadmap — basic layout works, but expect rough edges and missing features. Works best in a browser with WebGPU or WebGL2.

How it works

DesignCraft's whole engine and UI compile to WebAssembly from the same Rust codebase as the native app, so it's loaded once (on Launch, not on page load) and then runs as a self-contained layout tool inside the frame above — laying out and saving a document never leaves your browser. The GPU compositor uses WebGPU where available and falls back to WebGL2 automatically.

FAQ

Does my document get uploaded anywhere?
No. DesignCraft runs entirely client-side via WebAssembly — laying out and saving a document all happen on your device. There is no server-side document storage.
Why is the download so big?
It's a full page-layout engine, not a small script — about 41MB of WebAssembly, the same engine that powers the native desktop app. It only loads once you click Launch, and your browser caches it after that.
Is this finished software?
No — DesignCraft is pre-alpha, by upstream's own roadmap. Basic page layout works, but it isn't a daily-use InDesign replacement yet.
